Before you start describing your idea

Does inke replace my tattoo artist?

No. Inke generates the custom design and shows you how it could look on your skin. A trained tattooer still draws the final stencil and does the actual tattooing. Treat it as a briefing tool, not a shop.

How does custom tattoo design with AI actually work?

You describe the idea in your own words: subject, style, placement. Inke returns a flash sheet of variants in different styles so you can compare and pick a direction, then preview it on a photo of your skin.

Is my skin photo stored anywhere?

No. Uploaded photos are used only to generate the try-on preview and are wiped within two hours. Nothing is stored, and nothing is used to train the model further.

What tattoo styles can I generate?

Ten styles are covered: traditional, blackwork, fine-line, dotwork, neo-trad, irezumi, realism, script, geometric, and botanical. Some styles translate better to AI-generated line work than others, so ask for variants in more than one to compare.

How much does a custom design cost?

Can my tattoo artist use the export directly?

Session and Parlour plans include an export kit built to hand to your tattooer as a reference, not a finished stencil. They'll still adapt it to your skin and their technique.

What if none of the variants look right?

Session gives you up to 5 separate ideas and 60 variants total, enough room to try a different description or style before you commit. If a concept still isn't working, that tells you it needs a human tattoo artist's input before it's ready.

Does the try-on preview show how the tattoo will heal?

No. It shows placement, scale, and how the design sits on your body's curves. Healing depends on your skin, the artist's technique, and aftercare, inke doesn't simulate that.
